About Scott

My name is Scott Dale Robison. I’m a software developer and aspiring radio host, living in Utah, but originally from Texas.

American by birth, Texan by the grace of God.

I’m married with two children and two poodles (or four children if you ask my wife; the poodles are our fuzzy babies).

While I’ve spent most of my working life writing computer software, I’ve spent about three years in radio. I worked as a DJ for a couple of months during my senior year of high school, then again later for about six months during late 1991 and early 1992. Most notably, I hosted several different radio talk shows from 2003 through 2005, covering multiple topics, including politics, pop culture, and technology. In the meantime, I listen to talk radio and call a few different shows on occasion.

I’ve been writing software since junior high. I started on Commodore Pet computers at my school in BASIC. I received a Timex/Sinclair 1000 as a gift one Christmas during the early 1980′s, and later bought a Commodore 64 and (later still) a Commodore 128D.

My first ‘computer programming job’ was as a teaching assistant at Brigham Young University during 1988 and 1989. Later in 1989 I started my first professional position at Gazelle Systems. I’ve worked for my present employer, Mediaport Entertainment of Salt Lake City, Utah, as a senior software developer since February 2006.

I’ve programmed using a number of languages over the years, including:

  • Assembly Language (6502 & x86 family).
  • BASIC & FORTRAN.
  • Pascal & Modula 2.
  • C, C++ & C#.
  • Batch files (don’t laugh, you can get a lot done with them when you need to).
  • A little (very little) Java & Python & VBScript.
