A female friend recently overheard the following paraphrased conversation in a women’s restroom at a restaurant:
Little Girl: “What does that sign say?”
Mother: “It is to tell the people who work here that they must wash their hands before they can go back to work.”
Little Girl: “Oh. What does that other sign say?”
Mother: “It says the same thing, but in Spanish.”
Little Girl: “Why do they have it in Spanish? Don’t you have to be American to work here?
